It's Been Awhile but I'm Back!!!

Hey everybody! It has been awhile since I've made a post! Graduate school took up the majority of my time this year, but I'm happy to report that I'm done with school and ready to begin shooting again! I've already gotten out there and grabbed some new images this summer. Many of them can be found on my myspace (www.myspace.com/luckmanphotography) I'm also working on upgrading my website (www.trevorluckman.com) And as always you can find many of my prints for sale on my etsy site (www.trevorluckman.etsy.com) I'm happy to be done with school and happy to be getting out there and capturing some Oregon beauty. Where have I been? In graduate school that's where haha. I've been so busy since the summer with school and student teaching that my small time photography business got pushed to the side for a little bit. I'm trying to keep it going, but getting out there and getting images has been tough, but I'm trying! Not much news besides the fact I launched a Wallpaper to New Camera Campaign in an effort to get a much needed new camera! We'll see how it works, for more info on that, check this out!

Recovering and 50% Off

So, as some of you know I finally got the large hole in my ear drum fixed yesterday during ear surgery. The doctor says everything went well and I’m on the road to recovery especially the next few days and maybe a few weeks. But as you can tell that has not stopped me from getting in front of the computer here and there! Ha.

I'm Back

Well hey there, I’m back from the Art Festival in Brookings. Saturday was a beautiful day and I did pretty good for it being my first year and not having a very good location at the festival! But I had a blast, met a ton of interesting people, and I learned so much about what works and what doesn’t in an art festival setting. This was my first show but it definitely will not be my last. There were some amazing artists out there and I had great time just walking around checking out peoples work as well. Thanks for all the support out there and I’ll let everybody know when my next festival is – hopefully sometime around Christmas. Cheers!

San Francisco Treat

I'm back from a little vacation to San Francisco, had a great time, didn't get much photography done, because I was there to have a good time and act more like a tourist (not to mention my business name is Images of Oregon! but that won't stop me, more on that in a min)... moreoverI checked out some of the photographer vendors down on the Wharf, and whoah! Did they have some great photos of the Bay Area... some breathtaking work down there of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Rejected by Trevor picture voting is still gong on at my myspace profile, until Sunday, so please chime in on that (look at my myspace profile for rules) and look for the winners to be announced on Monday most likely... and in other contest news, I'm going to do an actual contest on Monday... where I ask people again to pick some images to see if they become prints, and everybody who votes will be entered for a chance to win one of my prints! What I'm workin' on

So, I'm working on some home made greeting cards that I think I will be posting on Etsy in a few days, not sure how they will do but it doesn't hurt to test the waters out there. I'm not going hiking this weekend because of an ear infection :( So probably won't get much photography done until next week on 4th of July -- I'm heading to Bandon, Oregon.

Bandon has beautiful beaches and I'm hoping to capture a few more seascapes to add to my photo-categories, and also maybe a light house. My myspace friends list keeps on growing, and I'm very grateful to all the people out there who've messaged and commented me on my work. In other news, I didn't get to do my hike I planned last weekend because of the weater and a slight illness. But I plan next week on hitting at least 3 or 4 small hikes in one day in order to get some good images. I'm also planning a Crater Lake Trip in the next few weeks. You can't be called Images of Oregon without some images of famous Crater Lake!

Art Festival

So I haven't been blogging much and I haven't been on Etsy as much this past week, that's because a few days ago I found out I was accepted into an Art Festival on the Southern Oregon Coast, in the great city of Brookings, where as it turns out is the city I snapped most of my popular Seagull shots.... So I've been planning lately on what prints I'm going to be selling there and how I'm going to organize my booth! This will be my first festival and I'm super excited about it. If I can't sell photography of Seagulls there where can I sell them!? haha Etsy has slowed down quite a bit for me, only getting a few sales a week, which is better than nothing. I'm also getting a few sales a week at http://www.trevorluckman.com , I'm hoping the art festival will broaden my client network and will even increase website sales. Okay, I'm heading out hiking tomorrow with my camera in tow, not sure where were heading but look for a late Sunday night or Monday update with some new shots! Cheers

So, some news, I've added a feature on my website to enable orders of Canvas Gallery Wraps, Greeting Cards, and Postcards! So, I had a few sales over the weekend on Etsy, http://trevorluckman.etsy.com , mostly items for the Saturday sale, but I was happy with the sales nonetheless. Also a few sales on my regular site, http://www.trevorluckman.com ... I'm hoping sales will pick up this month, the tax man has already vistited most people, so I'm hoping wallets will open up a little more for my work. There aren't any new prints available yet this week, but look for next weekend as I plan on hiking deep in the Applegate Lake/River area to get some shots of Frog Pond, I'm excited about it...

I have orenitation for graduate school this Friday, so I'll get that over with and be ready to hike and get some shots on Saturday morning. So look for an update next Sunday at this time with plenty of more prints available, and if you get a chance check out my Etsy and my regular website, perhaps there will be an image that catches your eye. And as always feel free to contact me about different photo finishes (say Metallic paper?) Cafe Press, Ebay, and Hiking!

So, I had a great time this Saturday hiking into the Rogue Wilderness/Scenic Area in Southern Oregon. I was able to capture a few good frames too (even though I forgot my tripod head, hard to shoot one second shutters handheld!) I'm very happy with a few of the images and they have become my new favorites... I'm working on getting those images on my website, http://www.trevorluckman.com , probably be up tomorrow, I spent all day uploading and creating products on Cafe Press today. I'm hoping Cafe Press will allow me to expand my business... People are always telling me how great my photography is but how they wouldn't really know what to do with a print and wanted another option, well now they have it thanks to Cafe Press, I have greeting cards, postcards, mousepads, small prints and even a few magnets and stamps! Check it out if you get the time... http://www.cafepress.com/trevorluckman , I also posted two auctions on Ebay, I was warned by a lot of people on Etsy.com that Ebay probably won't really do anything for my photography business, and I have my doubts as well, but I wanted to give it a shot anyway, if these auctions don't work out then I'll probably forget about Ebay... Speaking of the E word, Etsy is still going fairly well for me, have expanded my customer base by being on that site and I'm very grateful to have found such a great artistic community... well that's my update for this week, hope everybody is doing great!
